Do I need to make an appointment?
No. We do ask that you start your wash at least 15 minutes prior to the closing time. We understand with our hectic lives that it may be difficult to make it in by closing. If you’re running late, give us a ring and we’ll try our best to accommodate you. Other than that, come when it’s convenient for you.

What if I don’t want to do it myself?
No problem-just give us a call to make an appointment and one of our professional groomers will do it for you. Typically this takes about a couple hours. Click here for more info.

Is there someone there to help me?
There is always an attendant here at the Medway Dog Wash. Although it is self-service there is always an attendant here to help. If you have any questions or special needs, just call and we’ll answer any questions you may have.

What if my dog does not do well around other dogs?
Our tubs are separated by walls but if you would like we could make arrangements to open early or stay after regular business hours to accommodate you. We do provide muzzles free of charge to anyone who feels they may need them.

What about my cat?
Sorry, we do not allow cats.

How long does it take?
For the most part, it takes thirty minutes to wash and dry your dog. This will depend on the coat type and the breed of dog as well. The thicker the coat, the longer it will take for rinsing and brushing. Currently, we do not have a time limit, but do ask that you be courteous when others are waiting for a tub. Of course, when there are no other people waiting for a tub, take as long as you wish.

How often should I wash my dog?
There is a persistent myth that frequent bathing is bad for a dog’s skin and fur. Although this may be true if you use poor quality or human shampoo, regular bathing is GOOD for dogs. This is readily apparent to anyone who is around a dog that is bathed on a regular basis. Here at the Medway Dog Wash we only use top quality dog shampoos and have many types to choose from. (Of course you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.)
We have many customers that have dogs with skin conditions and their vet recommended that they wash their dog MORE frequently. Many of them we see drastic improvements in their coats as time goes by.
And of course I know the dogs enjoy their time here as they are always wagging their tales as they walk out the door!
